Anagnostopoulos A, Repoussis P, Terpos E, et al. The authors of this study wanted to create a thalidomide-containing regimen that would be well tolerated by elderly patients. Treatment consisted of melphalan 8 mg m2 days 1-4, dexamethasone 12 mg m2 on days 1-4 and 14-18, and thalidomide 300 mg on days 1-4 and 14-18. This regimen is repeated every 5 weeks for 3 courses; 40 patients have been enrolled so far; median age is 78 years range: 75-85 years ; .
